Globally, pepper prices on May 26, 2026 recorded no significant new fluctuations.
According to data from the International Pepper Community (IPC), Indonesian black pepper is currently quoted at $ 6,979/ton, while Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is priced at $ 6,250/ton. Malaysian black pepper is trading at $ 9,350/ton.
In Viet Nam, export prices for Vietnamese black pepper continue to fluctuate within the range of $ 6,100-6,200/ton for 500 g/l and 550 g/l grades.
At the same time, Indonesia’s Muntok white pepper was quoted at $ 9,151/ton. Meanwhile, export prices for white pepper from Malaysia and Viet Nam were reported at $12,250/ton and $9,000/ton, respectively.
Global pepper prices on May 26 generally remained stable, with the market relatively quiet and showing no new fluctuations.
According to specialized organizations, lower supply from this year’s harvest, while international demand remains steady, is providing strong support for the upward price trend. Trading activity at agricultural agents has shown signs of picking up again after several quiet days, supported by the return of investment capital.
Pepper prices on May 26, 2026: Domestic prices fall sharply.
In the first three months of 2026, U.S. pepper imports reached 21,497 tons, valued at $ 163.37 million, down 0.4% in volume but up 2.8% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
The average import price of pepper into the U.S. during the first three months stood at $ 7,600/ton, up 3.2% year-on-year.
In particular, the average import price of pepper from Viet Nam increased by 1.1%, India by 0.9%, and China by 6.5%; notably, import prices from Indonesia and Mexico rose sharply by 17.7% and 31.3%, respectively. In contrast, average import prices from Brazil, Sri Lanka, Spain, Ethiopia, and others declined significantly.
In terms of markets, in March Viet Nam remained the main pepper supplier to the U.S., with shipments totaling 6,008 tons, up 21.1% from the previous month and 50.6% from March 2025, accounting for 73.7% of total U.S. imports. This shows that Vietnamese pepper still maintains a strong competitive advantage in fulfilling orders, as well as a stable position in the global supply chain.
Thus, global pepper prices on May 26, 2026 remained stable compared to the previous day.
Viet Nam’s domestic pepper market on the morning of May 26 recorded sharp declines of VND 2,000-3,000/kg in several key production areas, bringing prices down to VND 137,000-142,000/kg.
Dong Nai recorded the steepest decline, falling by VND 3,000/kg to VND 137,000/kg.
Pepper prices in Gia Lai also decreased by VND 2,000/kg and are currently being purchased at the same level of VND 137,000/kg.
In Ba Ria-Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City), pepper prices fell by VND 2,000/kg to VND 139,000/kg.
Meanwhile, markets in Dak Lak and Dak Nong (Lam Dong) remained stable, with common trading prices at VND 142,000/kg, currently the highest level nationwide.
