At the end of the last week of May, the global pepper market saw mixed but overall stable movements. Trading activities in several producing and consuming countries slowed due to the Eid al-Adha holiday, resulting in quieter market conditions. Despite tightening supply, the market’s fundamental factors remained unchanged.

In India, pepper prices continued to rise strongly last week. Market sentiment was supported by the Indian Rupee appreciating 1% against the U.S. dollar.

Similarly, both domestic and export pepper prices in Indonesia recorded increases. Although the Indonesian Rupiah weakened by 1% against the U.S. dollar, pepper prices still maintained their upward momentum. Trading activity remained moderate as several countries were observing the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Thus, global pepper prices on June 2, 2026 remained stable compared to the previous day.
