Latest update on Arabica and Robusta prices on August 21, 2025

Global coffee prices today continued their strong upward trend, especially Robusta, which gained up to 5% as ICE-monitored inventories fell to their lowest level in 3 weeks. Similarly, Arabica prices have been rising steadily, climbing to a 2.5-month peak.

The reasons stem from the U.S. imposing a 50% tariff on Brazilian coffee, along with frost conditions in Brazil threatening coffee output and pushing exports down.

Additionally, a weaker U.S. dollar further supported the surge in coffee prices. As of now, the DXY index, which measures the greenback against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stood at just 98.22.
