Latest update on Arabica and Robusta prices on August 14, 2025
Global coffee prices rose across the board today. Robusta jumped to its highest level in two months, driven by short-covering after a heavy sell-off from May to July, along with news that Brazil’s robusta exports in July plunged by 49% compared to the same period last year.
Arabica prices also increased as investors continued to assess the impact of the high U.S. import tariff on Brazil – the world’s leading coffee producer – and turned their attention to a cold front affecting some of the country’s coffee-growing areas.
According to Cecafe, U.S. importers have requested to delay shipments after the U.S. imposed a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods. Additionally, reports of light frost in certain Brazilian coffee regions have pushed prices higher this week, even though the harvest is still progressing smoothly.
