In these historic August days, as the entire country moves toward the 80th National Day on September 2, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum has become a meaningful cultural rendezvous. Here, the special exhibition “Children of the Fatherland” opens up an artistic space full of emotion.
The paintings, statues, and sculptures on display not only portray revolutionary soldiers and ordinary yet resilient people, but also carry messages of gratitude to earlier generations who dedicated their lives to the independence and freedom of the nation.
At the same time, the exhibition creates a reflective journey, leading the public back through glorious pages of national history. Art here becomes a bridge between past and present, evoking national pride and nurturing love for the homeland in every heart. Thanks to this spiritual value, “Children of the Fatherland” has become one of the most significant cultural highlights of this year’s National Day.[Interview: Ms. Vuong Le My Hoc – Head of Exhibition, Display and Education Department, Vietnam Fine Arts Museum]
“This time our exhibition carries a very realistic character. These are works painted directly on the battlefield, depicting real people and real events, through portraits. We hope this exhibition will help young people better understand the sacrifices of their forefathers. The program is open free of charge to the public on September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.”
Visiting the exhibition, many young people shared that they felt as if they were reliving a part of history through each painting and sculpture. For them, this was not only an opportunity to appreciate art but also a chance to deepen their pride in the heroic past and to honor the sacrifices that brought peace and independence to today’s younger generations.[Interview: Ms. Tran Quynh – Dong Da District, Hanoi]
“After the visit, looking at the paintings and seeing the moments captured from the years when our country went through war, I feel deeply the value of today’s peace as we prepare to celebrate the upcoming great National Day.”
In addition to the special exhibition, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum maintains permanent displays of Dong Ho and Hang Trong folk paintings, as well as traditional instruments and artifacts that reflect the cultural life of our ancestors. The museum has also adopted modern technologies such as 3D mapping, interactive screens, digital search software, iMuseum VFA, and 3D Tours. These innovative experiences make museum visits livelier, more engaging, and especially attractive to young people and foreign visitors.[Interview: Ms. Vuong Le My Hoc – Head of Exhibition, Display and Education Department, Vietnam Fine Arts Museum]
““In addition to the special exhibition, we also have nine national treasures on display. At the same time, we apply technology so that artifacts not currently exhibited can still be accessed through this screen. We are also using 3D mapping technology as part of the experience.”
During National Day, coming to the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum is not only about enjoying art – it is a journey back into history, fostering pride in national traditions. It is a dynamic cultural space where art, history, and modernity converge, spreading love for the Fatherland into every heart.
