On the afternoon of February 20, the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication, in collaboration with Thai An Holdings Investment Joint Stock Company, held a press conference to announce the Art for Climate Ha Long - 2025 festival.

The Art for Climate program is a cultural, tourism, and communication event, combined with art, held for the first time in Vietnam, to raise public awareness and action on environmental protection and respond to climate change on a global scale. This is also a valuable opportunity for Ha Long Bay, the chosen location for the event, to promote the value of the world's natural heritage, as well as affirm its position on the global tourism and environmental map.

Spoke at the opening of the press conference, Mr. Vu Minh Ly, Deputy Director of the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication, said that the Art for Climate Ha Long - 2025 Festival aims to strongly spread and convey the message of environmental protection to a wide audience domestically and internationally.

At the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which first assessed global efforts to implement the commitment to net zero emissions, Vietnam has always affirmed its active role with drastic actions to respond to climate change among the 50 countries participating in the same commitment.

In order to realize the goals, the Vietnamese Government has issued a legal framework to synchronously implement solutions such as Decree No. 06/2022/ND-CP on greenhouse gas emission mitigation and ozone layer protection, Decision No. 01/2022/QD-TT on the list of sectors and facilities emitting greenhouse gases that must conduct greenhouse gas inventories.

According to Mr. Vu Minh Ly, also at COP28, the Art for Climate initiative was successfully organized for the first time, marking a new step forward in combining art and environmental protection messages. In 2025, the event will be organized with the firm direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province, and the close coordination of domestic and international organizations, typically the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and international organizations such as UNDP Vietnam, WWF Vietnam, and the Embassies of France, Italy, and Norway.

Vietnam has always shown its determination not to delay in responding to climate change and maintaining global temperatures at safe levels.

At the Press Conference, the Organizing Committee introduced a series of 20 activities of the Art for Climate program, held from February to June 2025, mainly taking place in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province. Specifically, the event's series of activities include exhibitions of paintings and photographs by Vietnamese and international artists; an online art competition with the theme "Future On Earth"; activities to activate the "University Activation" series to raise awareness of environmental protection among students nationwide; a series of seminars on the "Art For Climate" event to educate and increase responsibility for environmental protection; a contest to invent tools and machines to recycle waste to reduce the amount of waste by creating compelling and environmentally friendly recycling solutions.

Additional activities will include panel discussions on the Art for Climate initiative and environmental responsibility, a competition for inventing waste recycling tools and machinery, a scientific conference on global climate change, the 2025 Quang Ninh Investment Promotion Conference, beach cleanups, a "Billionaire Garden" tree-planting project, and a recycling-for-rewards program.

Cultural and sports activities in response to the program include the Art For Climate Concert (with tickets for sale to raise funds for environmental protection); the "Quintessence of Vietnamese Heritage" exhibition at Vung Duc cave; an international culinary exchange with 110 booths; Pickleball tournament; "Art For Climate RunShow" fashion show; marine environment cleaning activities at Bai Chay beach, Ha Long city.

In addition, the event will also open up a space for scientific seminars on global climate change, the Quang Ninh province investment promotion conference in 2025, and an auction of artworks to raise funds for environmental protection and heritage conservation.
