On Saturday, at Noi Bai Airport, the VDDMA under Ministry of Agriculture and Environment received emergency humanitarian relief from Singapore to be delivered to residents in Tuyen Quang province who suffered from the floods and storms that occurred in September and October.

The aid package included thermal blankets and personal hygiene kits, provided by the Singapore Ministry of Defence and related Singaporean organizations through the Singapore Embassy in Vietnam and the Regional Humanitarian Coordination Centre (RHCC).

The aid shipment was divided into two batches - the first arrived at Noi Bai Airport at noon on October 25, and the remaining shipment will arrive in the coming days. Once both shipments are received, the entire aid package will be transported to Tuyen Quang province for local distribution to disaster-affected communities.

At the handover ceremony, the Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Vietnam, Mr. Jaya Ratnam, presented the aid items to Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Director General of the VDDMA. Speaking at Noi Bai Airport, Mr. Tien emphasized that hygiene kits and thermal blankets are essential and timely supplies for residents recovering from floods as winter approaches.

For his part, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam stressed that Vietnam and Singapore are neighboring and friendly nations that always stand ready to support each other in times of difficulty. “Although the quantity may not be large, these items represent the goodwill of the Government and people of Singapore toward Viet Nam,” Ambassador Ratnam said.

Earlier, the Singapore Embassy in Viet Nam announced that the Singapore Red Cross had provided an emergency relief package worth SGD 50,000 (approximately USD 38,500) to the Vietnam Red Cross to support urgent humanitarian activities in the provinces of Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, and Nghe An.

As of October 24, 2025, embassies and international organizations have provided and committed emergency assistance totaling about USD 9.398 million to provinces affected by storm Bualoi and Matmo.
Through coordination with the VDDMA (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), emergency international aid has been provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Government of Australia, the AHA Centre, UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Save the Children, ActionAid International in Viet Nam, Samaritan’s Purse, Tzu Chi (Taiwan), CRS in Vietnam, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and WWF in Viet Nam.
The assistance includes cash, support for restoring agricultural livelihoods, bottled drinking water, water filters, blankets and mosquito nets, plastic water containers, multipurpose plastic sheets, personal hygiene kits, household kits, home repair materials, kitchen kits, and school supplies for people affected in the provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, and Ha Tinh.
