Some areas in the Red River Delta are expected to clear flooding in the coming days.

According to the representative of the Department of Water Resources (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), most of the rice fields are not completely submerged but only experiencing deep flooding. With ongoing drainage efforts, water levels in the fields are gradually decreasing, and the rice plants are still able to withstand the conditions.

The Vietnam Agriculture News reports that previously, the Department of Water Resources had requested the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development and irrigation facility operators in various provinces to focus on operating their facilities at maximum capacity to urgently address drainage, ensuring safety for production and local livelihoods when conditions allow.

Irrigation facility operators are on 24/24h standby, closely monitoring weather and hydrological conditions to enhance the effectiveness of drainage operations to the highest possible level.

Localities need to cooperate with irrigation facility management units to focus on drainage, prioritizing assistance to areas with high-value crops and those deeply flooded..., to minimize damage from flooding.

According to the representative of the Institute of Water Resources Planning, with relatively positive forecasts, some areas will gradually resolve the flooding situation in the coming days.
