Live pig prices on December 5 in the North witnessed a simultaneous increase of VND 1000/kg across the 3 regions of Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, and Ninh Binh. This is also a resume of yesterday's increase momentum (December 4) with a simultaneous increase in Bac Giang, Yen Bai, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc and Hanoi.

In which, Bac Giang and Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, and Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen reached the price mark of VND 63,000/kg. Other provinces share the same pig price mark of VND 62,000/kg.

Thus, the entire Northern region is purchasing live pigs at prices ranging from VND 62,000 to VND 63,000/kg.

Live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions have recorded price adjustments in Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan, with an increase of VND 1,000/kg. This is a continuation of the price increase from yesterday (December 4), when the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh also raised their live pig prices.

Currently, live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions are fluctuating between VND 60,000 and 63,000/kg. Lam Dong and Binh Thuan are the two provinces with the highest transaction prices in the region, reaching VND 63,000/kg.

Live pig prices in the South on December 5 have shown no price fluctuations. Currently, the prices in this region range from VND 61,000 to VND 63,000/kg. Among them, Kien Giang continues to maintain the highest price in the country, with a price reaching VND 64,000/kg.

Currently, Mai Son district (Son La) has nearly 194,000 livestock of various types, with more than 11,000 farming households.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Hao, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mai Son district, said that before this winter, more than 85% of the livestock households had facilities that met the cold protection requirements.
