Pepper prices on December 12 globally

Globally, pepper prices on December 12 are slightly declining in some places.

Accordingly, the price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia dropped by 0.19%, down to $ 6,822/ton. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper decreased by 0.2%, settling at $ 9,115/ton.

The price of Kuching ASTA black pepper from Malaysia stands at $ 8,200/ton, while ASTA white pepper from this country is priced at $ 10,400/ton.

In the Brazilian market, ASTA 570 black pepper is trading at $ 6,250/ton, a decrease of 0.4%.

In Vietnam, export prices for black pepper of 500 g/l grade are at $ 6,300/ton, while the 550 g/l grade is priced at $ 6,600/ton. The export price of white pepper is currently at $ 9,400/ton.

Global pepper prices today decreased slightly in Indonesian and Brazilian black pepper markets. Meanwhile, other markets remained stable.

Data from the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) shows that in October, the US imported 7,211 tons of various types of pepper from the world, down 26.4% compared to the previous month but up 21% compared to the same period last year.

Cumulatively, from the beginning of the year until the end of October, pepper imports to the world’s largest consuming country reached 80,298 tons, valued at $ 409.16 million, up 40.9% in volume and 56.6% in value compared to the same period last year.

In this, Vietnam continued to be the largest supplier of pepper to this market, accounting for 77.4% of the total pepper imports to the US, with a volume of 62,158 tons, valued at $ 314.4 million, up 40.7% in volume and up 62.5% in value compared to the same period last year.

Thus, global pepper prices on December 12, 2024, are trending slightly lower compared to yesterday.

Traders in Binh Phuoc continue to deal in pepper at VND 145,000/kg.
