Pepper prices on December 10 globally

Globally, pepper prices on December 10 showed mixed movements.

Specifically, the price of black pepper in Lampung, Indonesia, increased significantly by 2.02%, reaching $ 6,841/ton. Meanwhile, the price of white pepper from Muntok decreased slightly by 0.08%, standing at $ 9,141/ton.

In Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper is priced at $ 8,300/ton, while ASTA white pepper from the country is trading at $ 10,400/ton.

In Brazil, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper is $ 6,275/ton.

For Vietnam, the export price of black pepper 500 g/l is $ 6,200/ton, and 550 g/l is priced at $ 6,500/ton. White pepper for export is trading at $ 9,300/ton.

Global pepper prices today are showing mixed movements in Indonesia but remain stable in other markets.

Currently, the strong USD is suppressing pepper prices. As of the latest data, the US Dollar Index (DXY), which tracks the greenback against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), has risen to 106.16.

According to data from Brazil's Foreign Trade Statistics Center (Comex Stat), Brazil exported 4,302 tons of pepper in November, an increase of 18.8% compared to the previous month but a decrease of 43.5% compared to the same period last year.

With this result, Brazil's total pepper exports in the first 11 months of the year only reached 57,290 tons, a sharp decrease of 21.8% (15,987 tons) compared to the same period in 2023.

Thus, global pepper prices on December 10, 2024, remained mostly unchanged compared to the previous day.

In Vietnam, domestic pepper prices on December 10 remained stable compared to the previous day.

Specifically, Dak Lak continues to purchase pepper at VND 147,000/kg;

Pepper prices in Dak Nong today remain at VND 147,200/kg;

Pepper prices in Gia Lai today decreased by VND 500, to VND 146,000/kg;

Traders in Dong Nai are purchasing pepper at VND 146,000/kg;

Pepper prices in Ba Ria-Vung Tau remain stable at VND 146,000/kg;

Meanwhile, traders in Binh Phuoc continue trading pepper at VND 145,000/kg, down VND 1,000.

The domestic pepper prices today have only decreased by VND 500 - 1,000 in Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc. Therefore, the price of this agricultural product remains at the VND 147,000/kg level.

Thus, domestic pepper prices on December 10, 2024, are trading around VND 146,000 - 147,200/kg.
