Update on pepper prices in domestic and international markets as of December 11, 2024
Globally, the price of pepper on December 11 continues to show mixed trends.
Specifically, the price of black pepper Lampung in Indonesia decreased slightly by 0.09%, reaching $ 6,835/ton. The price of white pepper Muntok also dropped by 0.09%, standing at $ 9,133/ton.
The price of black pepper Kuching ASTA from Malaysia is $ 8,300/ton, while white pepper ASTA from Malaysia is priced at $ 10,400/ton (a decrease of 0.09%).
In Brazil, the price of black pepper ASTA 570 is trading at $ 6,275/ton.
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper, type 500 g/l, is $ 6,300/ton (up 1.61%), while type 550 g/l is priced at $ 6,600/ton (up 1.53%). The price of white pepper for export is currently $ 9,400/ton (up 1.06%).
Global pepper prices today are slightly decreasing in Indonesia and Malaysia but are increasing significantly for Vietnamese export pepper.
According to Comexstat, in November 2024, Brazil exported 4,302 tons of pepper, with a revenue of $ 28 million, showing an 18.8% increase in export volume and a 19.6% rise in revenue compared to October.
The United States was the largest export market for Brazilian pepper in November, importing 850 tons, followed by Germany with 464 tons, Pakistan with 433 tons, and Vietnam, which ranked eighth with 251 tons.
As of the end of November 2024, Brazil's total pepper exports amounted to 57,290 tons, generating a revenue of 257.8 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, the export volume decreased by 21.8%, but revenue increased by 44.9%.
The UAE was the largest export market for Brazil, importing 7,556 tons, followed by Vietnam with 7,230 tons, Pakistan with 6,356 tons, India with 5,982 tons, and Senegal with 5,252 tons.
Thus, global pepper prices on December 11, 2024, are showing mixed trends compared to yesterday.
Domestically, pepper prices have seen little change compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Dak Lak, the purchase price remains at VND 147,000/kg;
Dak Nong's price remains at VND 147,200/kg;
Gia Lai's price has decreased by VND 1,000, now standing at VND 145,000/kg;
Traders in Dong Nai are purchasing pepper at VND 146,000/kg;
Ba Ria-Vung Tau's price remains at VND 146,000/kg;
Traders in Binh Phuoc continue to trade at VND 145,000/kg.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on December 11, 2024, are trading around VND 145,000 - 147,200/kg.
