Since the beginning of the week, domestic pepper prices have fluctuated within a narrow range across most localities. Currently, the supply in the market is low, leading to a stagnation in buying and selling activities.

Forecasts indicate that the Vietnamese pepper industry will continue to benefit from high export prices due to reduced supply. According to the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPSA), the stock of pepper in the market is nearly exhausted, with only some remaining in agents' and companies' warehouses.

The inventory from the 2023 crop, combined with imports in 2024, is estimated to be around 40,000 - 45,000 tons (including unofficial imports), indicating that export supplies will be lower than in previous years until the 2025 harvest season, expected to begin in March 2025.

Experts predict that pepper has entered a new price increase cycle, expected to last 10-15 years, with the potential to reach VND 350 - 400 thousand/kg.

Thus, on 10/04/2024, the domestic pepper price is trading around VND 147,000 - 148,000/kg.
