In Q3 2024, Vietnam exported 5.3 thousand tons of meat and meat products, valued at $ 24.85 million; down 8.4% in volume and 12.4% in value compared to the same period last year.
The main types of meat and meat products exported include fresh, chilled, or frozen pork, and edible offal from poultry, fresh, chilled, or frozen.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts that Vietnam’s meat and meat product exports will grow in the coming period. The main export items will still be frozen piglets, frozen pork, frozen chicken feet, frozen frog meat, etc.
In addition, Vietnam's meat supply is expected to meet domestic consumption demand, so imports of meat and meat products are not forecast to increase sharply. The imported meat and meat products will mainly consist of poultry meat and edible offal; fresh or frozen buffalo, beef, and pork; and edible offal from pork, buffalo, and beef.
