Live pig prices on November 20 in the North

The live pig market in the northern region remains unchanged compared to yesterday.

Specifically, pig prices in Lao Cai and Ninh Binh hold steady at VND 61,000/kg, the lowest in the region.

Slightly higher at VND 62,000/kg are prices being traded by merchants in Bac Giang, Yen Bai, Nam Dinh, and Ha Nam.

Meanwhile, in other localities, prices are at VND 63,000/kg, the highest in the region.

Thus, live pig prices in the North on November 20, 2024, are trading at VND 61,000 - 63,000/kg.

The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands remains unchanged from yesterday.

Specifically, the lowest price in the region, VND 60,000/kg, is being recorded in Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan.

Other localities continue trading at around VND 61,000/kg.

Thus, live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands on November 20, 2024, are being purchased at around VND 60,000 - 61,000/kg.

The live pig market in the South remains mostly unchanged from yesterday.

Notably, only prices in An Giang and Hau Giang increased by VND 1,000, trading at VND 62,000 and VND 61,000/kg, respectively.

Other localities continue purchasing at the same rates as yesterday.

Thus, live pig prices in the southern region on November 20, 2024, are trading within the range of VND 60,000 - 63,000/kg.

Nghe An ensures food supply for the Lunar New Year

Since the beginning of 2024, Nghe An province has recorded 244 outbreaks of African swine fever across various districts, towns, and cities, resulting in nearly 10,000 pigs being culled.

To promptly control the disease, minimize losses for farmers, accelerate recovery in production, and ensure food supply for the Lunar New Year, on November 15, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Van De, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, signed Directive No. 45/CT-UBND on "focusing on the decisive and comprehensive implementation of measures to prevent and combat ASF".

Based on the current situation, the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requires the Chairmen of District, Town, and City People's Committees; Directors of Departments; Heads of provincial-level agencies; and related units to focus on implementing measures in line with the directives of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee in Directive No. 29-CT/TU, regarding strengthening leadership and direction for effective disease prevention and control, as well as other relevant instructions.
