Since 2023, Tay Ninh has not reported any outbreaks of ASF, but neighbouring provinces have experienced outbreaks. In 2021, 41 outbreaks occurred, resulting in the culling of more than 4,700 pigs, and in 2022, there were 19 outbreaks with 501 pigs culled. The provincial People's Committee provided nearly VND 60 billion in support to farmers whose pigs were culled.
Currently, ASF outbreaks are spreading rapidly across the country, and the situation is unpredictable. The risk of ASF affecting Tay Ninh is very high, leading to financial losses for the local budget.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tay Ninh has directed the Sub-Department of Livestock Production and Animal Health to intensify monitoring and advise farmers to be vigilant in preventing the disease from entering the region.
