On the morning of April 2, 2025, coffee prices in the global market experienced strong fluctuations, especially on major exchanges such as London and New York. Specifically, Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange surged, increasing by $ 103 - $ 119/ton, ranging from $ 5,100 - $ 5,385/ton.
The main reason for this price increase is concerns over the global coffee supply, particularly from Brazil, where dry weather could impact production. Additionally, the Brazilian Real has appreciated, reducing the incentive for exporters to sell coffee.
In Vietnam, domestic coffee prices on April 2, 2025, showed signs of a slight decline compared to the previous trading session. Specifically, coffee prices in the Central Highlands decreased by VND 600 - 800/kg, ranging from VND 131,200 - 132,300/kg.
According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, domestic coffee prices are currently at VND 132,300/kg, slightly lower than yesterday. The price decline is attributed to profit-taking pressure from speculators and abundant supply.

Based on the latest updates, experts predict that in the short to medium term, coffee prices may stabilize due to profit-taking pressure and ample supply. However, in the long term, prices are expected to remain high due to factors such as:
