Latest Arabica and Robusta prices on August 29, 2025
Global coffee prices today fell sharply across the board due to liquidation selling after J.M. Smucker Co., the owner of Folgers and Café Bustelo, announced it would continue raising prices to offset higher tariff costs. This fueled concerns that the ongoing price surge could dampen consumer demand.
According to Reuters, Robusta and Arabica futures fell on Thursday after reaching a 3-month high, although they remain supported by declining inventories on the exchanges. Robusta stocks are now at 65,520 tons, down from 70,120 tons at the end of July, while Arabica stocks dropped to 714,936 bags, the lowest level in a year. Nearly 30,000 bags of Mexican coffee have also arrived at the port of New York, awaiting classification.
In Vietnam, the world’s largest Robusta producer, traders and farmers reported that the crop was not affected by Typhoon Kajiki. According to The Wall Street Journal, J.M. Smucker said it would continue to raise coffee prices to cover the increased costs from tariffs. The company, which owns brands such as Folgers and Café Bustelo, has already adjusted coffee prices twice this year and is expected to raise them again in the winter.
