Global coffee prices today were flat on the London exchange as trading paused for a holiday. Meanwhile, Arabica prices on the New York exchange edged down slightly due to profit-taking and the liquidation of long positions.

However, the market remains supported by a sharp decline in certified stocks on the ICE exchange. Specifically, Arabica inventories fell below 730,000 bags, the lowest level in over a year.

Robusta inventories also dropped to the lowest level in four weeks. This situation comes as roasters, particularly in the U.S., are seeking alternative supply sources after the U.S. government imposed a 50% tariff on coffee imports from Brazil.

According to StoneX, Brazil’s coffee production has been consistently challenged by climate conditions, and this situation is recurring in the 2025/26 crop. Furthermore, Minas Gerais, Brazil’s largest arabica-growing region, saw no rainfall during the week ending August 23.
