On August 16, the Vietnamese Typical Goods Fair 2023, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Business Associations (HUBA), was opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). The exhibition takes place for three days, from August 16–August 18.
According to Chairman of HUBA Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, the 15th Vietnamese Typical Goods Fair has the largest scale ever, with 285 booths from 150 enterprises in the industry groups of food processing, textile, footwear, household plastic, handicraft, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, tourism, etc.
The fair aims to create opportunities for domestic production and business enterprises to promote Vietnamese brands and introduce products to buyers and brokers, and it is a place for enterprises to exchange and update new trends through trade connections and market expansion," said Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa.

In addition to promotional activities to introduce to consumers, there are also exchange and interactive activities between business communities so that businesses will jointly share experiences, especially the transformation of governance and operations towards sustainable development and a green economy.
Especially at this exhibition fair, a number of enterprises that are participating in the "Green Enterprise" voting program in 2023 also displayed and introduced products at the exhibition, helping to improve their reputation and increase their attraction to buyers according to the trend of green transformation, environmentally friendly products, and aiming for sustainable development.
Besides, the product exhibition area of the city's key commodity industries introduces and promotes the achievements of the rubber, plastic, mechanical, automation, food processing, household plastic, and handicraft industries, thereby creating opportunities for domestic and foreign enterprises to connect and then join the prestigious and large-scale supply chain.
According to Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc, this exhibition fair aims to promote the program "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods"; support small and medium enterprises in innovating technology and increasing competitiveness; accelerate digital transformation through e-commerce applications; complete distribution systems; and diversify markets.
In particular, the fair aims to encourage the production of green and circular products, promote the business model towards green and sustainable growth, and form a general trend towards evaluation criteria for Vietnamese products.
In order for consumers to prioritize Vietnamese goods, according to Mr. Duong Anh Duc, in parallel with the campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods", domestic enterprises need to bring to the market products of high quality and suitable prices to compete with foreign goods, helping to change many consumers’ psychology of preferring foreign goods. Only then can we compete with foreign goods on the domestic market.
