Informing about the upcoming Ho Chi Minh City Export Forum and Trade Fair 2023 (HCM Expo 2023), Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Department of Industry and Trade, said all tasks had been completed. More than 1,000 guests from crucial importing countries such as the United States, Korea, Japan, India, Thailand, and Cambodia, with representative offices in Vietnam, have registered.

“The first multi-industry fair in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to welcome about 3,000 foreign visitors. This fair will be a meeting place between businesses and state agencies to exchange and solve difficulties in terms of policies, helping businesses improve their understanding of the “greenness” of international trade production and supply chains, thereby taking advantage of effective FTAs.

Reputable Vietnamese exporters and FDI enterprises will increase opportunities to connect with international partners and customers, consider expanding the domestic market to solve current difficulties, and improve the quality of household consumption,” said Mr. Vu.

This forum trade fair has the coordination and support of diplomatic agencies and export industry associations and welcomes buying delegations from the US, Taiwan, Korea, Cambodia, and India... need to search for agricultural products, food, and beverages; textiles, handicrafts, plastic rubber...

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade also organized two forums, “Promoting linkages towards green exports” and a conference to connect export market information with the theme “Vietnamese agricultural products reach out” to update consumer trends on green use of significant import markets, changing thinking about “greenness” in supply chains and international trade in key areas today.

Pursuing a green export strategy helps to increase the expected competitive advantage of all businesses in improving order value and expanding target markets.

The trade fair is also an opportunity to connect directly between businesses, associations, and representatives of state agencies to share difficulties and face backlog weaknesses. From there, jointly propose solutions to promote regional linkage in the three fields of “industry - agriculture - commerce, and services” towards green export, contributing to the gradual transformation of the economic structure according to the model circular economy.

The fair gathered 250 booths belonging to export enterprises from 7 key fields: food and beverage, agricultural products, rubber, plastic, mechanical engineering, electronics, furniture, handicrafts, textiles, and other export groups.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, participating in this export fair will help Vietnamese fruits reach domestic consumers. Because many consumers are still skeptical that Vietnamese fruits are not safe, but in fact, Vietnamese fruits are exported to many countries. “This is an opportunity to create consumer confidence in Vietnamese fruit,” said Mr. Tung.
