On the afternoon of November 26, Minister Tran Duc Thang and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment's delegation began the working visit to China from November 26 - 28. Minister visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in Beijing and held discussions with Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh.

At the start of the working session, the Minister emphasized that this trip carries many important tasks, including meetings with multiple Chinese partners, and has been prepared for several months. He also expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh and the Embassy of Viet Nam in Beijing staff for arranging and facilitating the connections that allowed the trip to proceed as planned.
Citing the share of agricultural export value to China in relation to the sector’s total exports in recent years, Minister Tran Duc Thang stressed, "China is an extremely important market for Vietnamese agricultural products."
He added that through meetings and exchanges like this one, it is expected that Viet Nam’s agricultural, forestry, and seafood exports to China will continue to expand, thrive, and increase in value.

Regarding personnel matters, the Minister stated that to meet the demands of work across numerous fields related to agriculture and environment, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will next year assign representatives to China and hopes to receive support and assistance from the Ambassador as well as the Embassy staff.
Another important aspect of the working trip involves exchanges with Beijing city on experiences in improving the environment and air quality. Beijing presented as a good example on pollution control, sustainable urban planning.
“We can refer to, exchange, and learn from their experiences and bring suitable solutions back to Viet Nam,” the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment shared with Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh.

According to the Minister, climate change is placing significant pressure on many regions of Viet Nam, affecting agriculture, forestry, and rural livelihoods. He stressed that learning from international experience and implementing early, long-term solutions is essential for building resilience and ensuring sustainable development in the sector.
Emphasizing his desire to contribute to the country both in the short and long term, Minister Tran Duc Thang said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is eager for the Embassy of Viet Nam in Beijing to continue close coordination with the Ministry and maintain regular exchanges on sector-related matters.
“Opening up an additional agriproduct to the Chinese market would benefit thousands of farmers,” he said, adding that the Ministry and its affiliated units will do their utmost to facilitate any Chinese partners wishing to connect through the Embassy of Viet Nam in Beijing.

On his part, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh expressed his pleasure at learning that the Ministry plans to add personnel in China next year. The Ambassador emphasized that besides contributing to the economy, the agriculture and environment sector also addresses livelihoods for millions of farmers, making the addition of staff absolutely necessary. He noted, the two countries have signed 24 memoranda of understanding and protocols on importing and exporting agricultural, forestry, and fishery products.
"The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is connected with many Chinese ministries and sectors, so the Embassy will make every effort to enhance its support and facilitation role in the Ministry’s areas. I commit to facilitating closer coordination and communication, ensuring that the Ministry’s personnel can effectively carry out their duties and strengthen connections with Chinese partners," Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh added.
In other words, the Ambassador and the staff of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Beijing will do their utmost to ensure that the Ministry’s new personnel can fully accomplish their assigned tasks.
