According to Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, Secretary General of the Viet Nam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit), export turnover of fruits and vegetables in October reached USD 927 million. Despite a sharp decrease compared to USD 1.313 billion in September, the export turnover of fruits and vegetables remains substantially higher than USD 519 million in October 2024.
With results achieved in October, total fruit and vegetable exports in the first 10 months of 2025 reached USD 7.057 billion, increasing by 14.6% compared to the same period in 2024 and nearly equaling the record USD 7.12 billion achieved in the entire year of 2024.

With fruit and vegetable export turnover remaining at a very high level in the final months of the year (consistently above USD 900 million since August), Mr. Nguyen forecast that fruit and vegetable exports could reach USD 8.5 billion this year.
Durian remains the key commodity in Viet Nam's fruit and vegetable exports. According to the General Department of Customs, durian exports in the first nine months of this year reached USD 2.76 billion. On that basis, Mr. Nguyen estimated that by the end of October, durian exports had already surpassed the record USD 3.2 billion achieved in 2024.
Beyond export turnover growth in general, Vietnamese fruit and vegetable products are also expanding their market share in China. According to the General Administration of Customs of China, the total value of fruit and vegetable imports into the Chinese market in the first nine months of 2025 reached USD 20.3 billion, up 5.8% compared to the same period in 2024. Of which, imports from Viet Nam accounted for 20%, increasing from 17.9% in the first nine months of 2024.
These figures indicate that Viet Nam is one of the most important suppliers of fruit and vegetables to China. With the advantages of geographical position and fast delivery times, Vietnamese fruits and vegetables have strong competitiveness in terms of freshness and quality in this market.
