The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, together with the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, is rushing to complete final preparations for the 8th ASEAN Heritage Parks Conference (AHP8), which will take place from December 2 to December 5, 2025, in Bai Chay ward. This major international event on nature conservation and biodiversity is expected to welcome more than 320 delegates from Vietnam and abroad.

According to the Nature Conservation and Biodiversity Department, AHP8 will be held at the Muong Thanh Luxury Quang Ninh Hotel, with participation from the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity, and international organizations including the EU, UNDP, FAO, and TAF-GTEI. Delegates representing 54 ASEAN Heritage Parks will attend. Vietnam alone will have representatives from 15 parks, including five newly recognized between 2022 and 2025.
The four-day program features an opening ceremony, an exhibition showcasing the heritage parks, technical workshops, the official certification ceremony for the new ASEAN Heritage Parks, and field trips to Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu and the Bai Tu Long Heritage Park. Each ASEAN country will be allocated a 6 m² exhibition booth, while Vietnam and the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity will have larger displays of 27 m².
So far, the Ministry has issued the event plan, formed the organizing committee, sent official invitations to ASEAN countries and international partners, and worked closely with Quang Ninh authorities to inspect venues and finalize logistics for international guests. Quang Ninh has approved the coordination plan and prepared requirements for security, accommodation, and transport.
In the next phase, agencies will finalise the script for the certification ceremony, cultural performances, the delegate list, and the product displays at Vietnam’s exhibition space, while ensuring smooth entry procedures and safety for all participants.
AHP8 is expected to strengthen regional cooperation in nature conservation, enhance Vietnam’s leadership in biodiversity efforts, and highlight Quang Ninh’s position as one of ASEAN’s leading green tourism destinations.
