In response to World Environment Day (June 5), World Oceans Day (June 8), the Month of Action for the Environment, and Viet Nam Sea and Islands Week 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE), in coordination with the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, is organizing a series of national-scale events in Cua Lo.

Through policy forums, thematic workshops, art programs, exhibitions, and community activities organized by Viet Nam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper (VAN News), the event series not only delivers a powerful message on environmental protection and marine resource conservation but also inspires responsibility and broad public participation in advancing green growth, developing a sustainable marine economy, and building a green, clean, beautiful Viet Nam.
The most important highlight of the event series is the National Launch Ceremony in response to World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, the Month of Action for the Environment, and Viet Nam Sea and Islands Week 2026. The ceremony will also officially launch the emulation movement, "All people join hands to protect the environment for a green, clean, beautiful Viet Nam." The program will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on June 6 at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo Ward.
Held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation across provinces and cities nationwide, the event is expected to bring together around 2,000 delegates. Attendees will include representatives from the Government, the National Assembly, Ministries and Central agencies, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, and international organizations; experts, scientists, businesses, large numbers of local residents, and the youth force.
At the ceremony, the MAE will launch a series of activities in response to the 2026 Environment Year. Leaders of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front will issue a nationwide call for public participation in environmental protection. Notably, Government leaders will deliver directive remarks, setting out key tasks for the coming period.
One of the most anticipated moments will be the official launch of the movement, "All people join hands to protect the environment for a green, clean, beautiful Viet Nam." The initiative is regarded as a powerful call, aimed at mobilizing the strength of communities in the effort to protect the environment and respond to climate change.
Taking place on the morning of June 5 at Vinpearl Cua Hoi, the National Forum on Environment and Climate will bring together managers, experts, and businesses to jointly assess today’s environmental challenges and propose solutions for action. The forum is expected to attract more than 200 in-person delegates, along with participants from 250–300 online access points nationwide. Key discussions will focus on the amendments and supplements to the Law on Environmental Protection 2020, climate change response policies, practical results from localities, and business and production models associated with environmental protection.

Notably, a specialized forum on air pollution control and greenhouse gas emission reduction will gather leading experts and representatives from management agencies and major corporations, such as Viet Nam Steel Corporation, Heineken Viet Nam, and Vinamilk. Pressing issues such as emissions management, the implementation of Net Zero commitments, and solutions to combat air pollution will be discussed openly at the forum. Beyond policy dialogue, the forum aims to drive tangible action, laying the groundwork for cooperation among the State, businesses, and communities in environmental protection.
On the afternoon of June 5, the National Workshop on Improving Institutions and Policies for Sustainable Marine Economic Development will take place at Vinpearl Cua Hoi under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister, leaders of the MAE, and leaders of Nghe An Province.
The workshop will bring together representatives from Viet Nam's 21 coastal provinces and cities, Ministries and Central agencies, experts, scientists, and the business community. This will be an important forum for discussing strategic directions for marine economic development in the new era.
Key presentations will focus on the Party's major orientations for the rapid and sustainable marine economic development, new provisions in the draft amendments to the Law on Marine and Island Resources and Environment, and practical experiences in marine economic development from localities.
An open discussion session featuring leaders from coastal localities, distinguished experts, and representatives from EVN, PVN, and Vinalines is expected to generate practical recommendations that will help complete the legal corridor for Viet Nam's green marine economic development.
On the evening of June 5, Binh Minh Square will host the special art program "Viet Nam’s Seas – A Journey of Green Space." As one of the largest cultural activities of the event series, the program is expected to attract 5,000-6,000 local residents, tourists, and delegates.
The performance will be broadcast live on VTV and simulcast across multiple digital platforms. Running for approximately 80 minutes, the program will unfold in three artistic chapters: “From the Motherland,” “Love of the Sea,” and “Reaching Out to the Open Sea.”
Audiences will enjoy a selection of beloved songs celebrating love for the homeland and Viet Nam's seas and islands, including “Viet Nam Oi,” “Noi Dao Xa," “Em Yeu Bien Dao Que Em," “Xa Khoi," “Hay Giu Cho Hanh Tinh Xanh," “Bien Hat Chieu Nay," “Bien Noi Nho Va Em," “Thuyen Va Bien," “Song Ve Dau," “Tinh Em Bien Ca," “Ben Cang Que Huong Toi," and “Mua Xuan Den Tu Nhung Gieng Dau."
Featuring famous artists such as People's Artist Quoc Hung, Ho Trung Dung, Thanh Thao, Pham Thu Ha, Bui Le Man, and Duyen Quynh, together with leading professional art troupes, the program promises an emotionally rich evening that will inspire love for Viet Nam's seas and islands while spreading the message of green living throughout the community.
Running alongside the conferences and art programs, a large-scale exhibition and display will take place at Binh Minh Square from June 4 to 6. The exhibition is regarded as an open space where local residents, tourists, and delegates can directly experience the values of the green marine economy and sustainable development.
The exhibition will feature a dedicated display of Nghe An's green seafood and agricultural products and signature products from Viet Nam's 21 coastal provinces and cities, as well as outstanding OCOP products from localities nationwide.
In addition, the exhibition will feature an area showcasing models, solutions, technologies, and products that support environmental protection, nature conservation, and the development of a green marine economy. Exhibition spaces promoting Nghe An's coastal tourism and the signature products of Cua Lo Ward will further highlight the locality's development potential.
More than simply promoting local products, the exhibition will create opportunities for businesses, investors, and consumers to connect, helping to advance a green economy associated with environmental protection.
The event series will conclude with a range of social welfare programs and community-oriented activities. Immediately following the National Launch Ceremony on the morning of June 6, delegates will present gifts to local fishermen and disadvantaged students who have demonstrated resilience in overcoming hardship.

While modest in material value, these activities carry profound humanitarian significance, reflecting the attention of the Party, the State, social organizations, and businesses for those facing difficult circumstances.
During the same period, delegates, youth union members, and local residents will take part in coastal tree planting activities and beach clean-up campaigns along the Cua Lo shoreline. These practical initiatives will directly contribute to improving the living environment while spreading a lifestyle that is in harmony with nature.
More than simply a series of events in response to major environmental and marine days, the program in Cua Lo conveys a powerful message about the shared responsibility of the entire society for protecting the environment. From national-level policy decisions and in-depth policy dialogues to simple actions such as planting trees, collecting litter, and supporting local fishermen, every initiative aims at the common goal of building a more sustainable, greener, and more livable Viet Nam.
Over the three days of activities, Cua Lo will become a gathering place for new ideas, strong commitments, and practical actions. It will also provide an opportunity for the community to reflect on its responsibility toward nature, the sea, and the future of next generations.
