Within the framework of the project "Building a clean salt production model linked to product consumption chains" in Ninh Thuan province, part of the National Agricultural Extension Project for the 2023-2024 period, the Ninh Thuan Agricultural Extension Center, in cooperation with the People's Committee of Nhon Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, recently organized the second training session for 30 participants who are salt farmers in the commune.

Ninh Hai district has the largest area of traditional salt production in Ninh Thuan province, concentrated in the three communes of Tri Hai, Phuong Hai, and Nhon Hai. Most salt farmers produce salt traditionally, without investing in or applying mechanization in the harvesting process. The application of technical advancements is still limited, making life difficult for them.
To help the salt farmers access new technical advancements and build a model for others to learn from, in 2024, the Ninh Thuan Agricultural Extension Center selected Nhon Hai commune to build a clean salt production model linked to product consumption chains on a 1-ha scale.
This is the second training session this year in Nhon Hai commune. The first training session was conducted in April 2024, during which the salt farmers discussed issues related to clean salt production techniques, such as: technological processes, construction techniques for centralized water reservoirs, the process of constructing and lining crystallization ponds with HDPE sheets, and the installation of HDPE sheets on crystallization ponds...
In this second training session, the salt farmers were trained and informed about the methods of using and maintaining HDPE sheets and calculating the production costs between earth ponds and lined ponds to clearly see the benefits that the new technology brings.
