The Ministry of Information and Communications has written support to put farmers on the e-commerce floor.
Decision No.1034/QD-BTTTT of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) will support to bring agricultural production households, individual business households, cooperatives, cooperative groups (agricultural production) to register participation in e-commerce platforms to connect, promote, introduce products, add new distribution channels, expand domestic and international markets.
Moreover, the MIC supports agricultural production households to promote the consumption of agricultural products on e-commerce platforms; promote fast consumption, contributing to avoiding the congestion of agricultural products during peak harvest, helping people keep agricultural product prices, avoiding dependence on traders and intermediaries.
Through e-commerce platforms and digital platforms, they will provide useful information for agricultural production households such as agricultural product market information, demand forecast and agricultural production capacity, weather information, and seasonality, seeds, fertilizers...; select to put on the e-commerce platform products, raw materials, input materials, tools for agricultural production with reputable brands, good quality, reasonable prices to introduce and provide agricultural production households.
To meet the needs of utilizing e-commerce platforms, it is necessary to guide and train digital skills, skills to participate in activities in the digital environment. Along with guiding people, it is essential to promote and introduce agricultural products through e-commerce platforms and distribution channels of postal enterprises owning the platform, and at the same time, expand consumption of agricultural products on new, modern and sustainable distribution channels through digital platforms; expand domestic and international markets.
The Ministry will help the people in other domestic and international areas can buy products conveniently and quickly even in the context of travel restrictions due to the epidemic.
The plan also clearly states on supporting information and input materials for production and business such as: Providing useful information for agricultural production households regarding agricultural product market information, demand forecast and agricultural production capacity, weather information, crops, varieties, fertilizers; providing reputable products, raw materials and input materials, ensuring quality and suitable to the needs of agricultural production households to serve production and business activities.
The Ministry of Information and Communications also requires agencies, news agencies, and foreign channels to promote Vietnamese agricultural products abroad, targeting expatriates as well as foreigners, in order to boost consumption and export Vietnamese agricultural products to the world.
