TH Group - a pioneer on journey toward carbon neutrality

(VAN) Not only a leading producer of clean milk in Vietnam, TH Group also made a strong mark on the journey toward sustainable development and carbon neutrality.

Aspiration for Viet Nam’s stature

Presenting at the training workshop on enhancing media capacity for carbon neutrality communication held in Nghe An Province, on October 15, 2025, Mr. Tran Trung My, Director of Quality Assurance at TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, emphasized that TH Group was founded by Mrs.Thai Huong. She is deeply devoted to the pursuit of true happiness, human health, and the harmony of nature. Her guiding philosophy has always been: "Cherish Mother Nature, for she gives us everything."

From its very beginning, TH established a distinct vision and mission: to align corporate interests with national interests, to develop for people and community health, and not to maximize profits but to harmonize benefits.

TH began its journey with a clean fresh milk revolution, applying advanced technology to deliver pure, safe, and nutritious fresh milk. Building on that foundation, the Group has since expanded into a diverse range of natural products, from herbal beverages and purified water to nut milk and school milk. All aligned with its philosophy of green pastures to pure milk.

Throughout its growth, TH has developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy built on six core pillars: Nutrition & Health; Environment; People; Education; Community; and Animal Welfare. This value system serves as the foundation for TH’s efforts to realize the 17 SDGs and comply rigorously with international GRI standards.

Notably, TH is the only enterprise in Viet Nam with a dedicated pillar on animal welfare, underscoring its humanitarian spirit and deep social responsibility. The Group ensures optimal living conditions, care, housing, and nutrition for its dairy herd based on the five freedoms principles, reflecting ethical livestock management at an international level.

Pioneering carbon neutrality: From green vision to practical action

At COP26, the Vietnamese Government committed to achieving net zero emission by 2050. In alignment with this national target, TH Group has proactively implemented its Carbon Neutral Strategy not only as an environmental obligation but also as a key competitive advantage in the emerging green economy.

Currently, among just six enterprises in Viet Nam certified for carbon neutrality under the PAS 2060:2014 international standard, two are TH subsidiaries: TH Milk JSC, which operates the TH True Milk Fresh Milk Processing Factory, and Nui Tien Pure Water Co., Ltd., which runs the Nui Tien Plant for purified water, herbal, and fruit beverages.

TH’s carbon-neutral roadmap follows a structured three-step process: identifying emission sources, measuring, and quantifying output; emission reduction through energy transition, technology optimization, and renewable energy adoption; emission offset compensating for residual emissions via internationally verified carbon credits that deliver both environmental and social value.

Through this holistic approach, TH continues to reaffirm its pioneering position transforming green vision into tangible, measurable action toward a sustainable, net-zero future for Viet Nam.

Among TH’s sustainability initiatives, the circular economy model serves as the core foundation, helping the Group reduce emissions across its entire production chain. TH has implemented a comprehensive set of advanced solutions, including solid waste treatment in livestock farming, manure and wastewater separation technologies, and modern wastewater treatment systems, to ensure maximum resource reuse.

As a result, TH has successfully reduced up to 70% of methane emissions.

At the same time, the Group’s transition from fossil fuels to biomass (such as wood chips and sawdust) for boilers, along with rooftop solar power systems, has significantly cut emissions. In 2023 alone, TH’s dairy factories reduced total greenhouse gas emissions by 62% compared to 2022, while generating over 15 million kWh of clean electricity per year (equivalent to eliminating about 10,000 tons of CO2).

TH also leads efforts to reduce plastic waste through concrete initiatives: downsizing shrink films, using thinner packaging labels, and switching to eco-friendly materials. Each year, the company cuts more than 600 tons of plastic and sustains its “Carton Collection – Spreading Green Living” program in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, a meaningful recycling model that encourages greener consumer behavior.

Spreading responsibility, moving toward Net Zero for a greener future

According to Mr. Tran Trung My, alongside green growth, TH prioritizes investment in people, education, and community well-being. Major social programs such as “For Vietnamese Stature,” “School Milk,” “S-Race,” “Red Sails,” and “Wishes for Children” have profoundly embodied humanitarian spirit and social responsibility. Hundreds of millions of glasses of milk, billions of Vietnamese dong in scholarships, and hundreds of community projects have been delivered nationwide.

In the field of human resources, TH applies the SAP SuccessFactors human resource management system, fostering a culture of diversity, equality, and transparency; cultivating talent through E-learning and TH School - an international-standard educational system that nurtures knowledge and global thinking.

All these efforts converge into one overarching value: sustainable development in harmony with the economy, society, and the environment, moving toward Net Zero.

From the green pastures of Nghia Dan to every glass of fresh milk on the dining table, TH tells not only the story of a Vietnamese dairy brand but also affirms Viet Nam’s stature and intellect on the global map of sustainable development, where nature is cherished, people are honored, and the future is safeguarded.
