SNE Company introduces AI-powered digital agriculture model at APEC 2025

(VAN) SNE is implementing a pilot project in Viet Nam with 10 key crops such as melon, pineapple, and durian, and plans to expand the application to many other agricultural products.

From September 30 to October 1, 2025, in Hanoi, within the framework of the international workshop "Promoting Smart Village/Commune Models for Sustainable and Inclusive Rural Development in APEC Economies," jointly organized by the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Policy and Strategy (ISPAE) and the APEC Secretariat, Mr. Chang SeHun, CEO of SNE Company, attended as a guest speaker and shared insights on Korea’s exemplary digital agriculture model, currently being successfully applied and piloted in Viet Nam.

Digitizing VietGAP through AI OCR technology

SNE Company operates an AI-powered B2B agricultural trading platform called B·good, which has earned high recognition internationally thanks to its proprietary AI OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology. This solution is paving a new path for Viet Nam’s agricultural digital transformation, particularly in traceability and quality management.

At present, cooperatives and farmers seeking VietGAP certification are required to manually record their production logs including details about soil, water, fertilizers, and crop care processes. This traditional method is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and poses challenges for data verification and transparency.

To address this bottleneck, SNE Company has applied AI OCR technology to automatically recognize and digitize data from handwritten forms, enabling faster, more transparent, and more accurate verification, storage, and traceability.

SNE is currently implementing a proof-of-concept (PoC) project in Viet Nam with 10 key crops such as melon, pineapple, and durian, and plans to expand the application to many other agricultural products in the next phase.

According to Mr. Chang SeHun, the company is further developing its algorithms so that the AI model can accurately recognize various handwriting styles and document formats across countries, targeting an accuracy rate close to 99%.

Expanding across Southeast Asia: Spreading value of digital transformation

Building on promising results in Viet Nam, SNE Company aims to expand cooperation to other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia, to share its AI experience and technology in agricultural management.

At the event, SNE’s AI technology for smart agriculture development received significant attention from participants.

Mr. Chang SeHun emphasized that success in Vietnam represents not only a commercial achievement but also a testament to the contribution of Korean technology to the global agricultural digitalization process.

“We hope to continue partnering with agencies, research institutes, and cooperatives in Viet Nam to build a more transparent, efficient, and sustainable digital agriculture ecosystem,” Mr. Chang stressed.

Affirming the role of Korean technology at international forum

The presence of SNE Company at international platforms such as APEC 2025 highlights the growing role of AI technology in advancing smart agriculture, contributing to the shared goals of green, inclusive, and sustainable growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
