According to the Project "Sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta until 2030," the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has piloted two models in Tra Vinh in the 2024 summer-autumn crop.

Phuoc Hao Agricultural Cooperative is one of two models selected to pilot advanced rice production processes. The model lasts for three consecutive crops, from the summer-autumn crop of 2024 to the autumn-winter crop of 2024, and the winter-spring crop of 2024-2025.

Phuoc Hao Agricultural Cooperative currently has 60 members, managing 650 hectares of rice production land, and is one of the typical units in Tra Vinh in applying scientific and technical advances to production, contributing to reducing costs.

Before implementing the model, the Cooperative's members were trained by the National Agricultural Extension Center and the Institute for Public Policy and Rural Development on straw management and sustainable rice cultivation, helping to reduce the amount of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation water, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Recently, Phuoc Hao Agricultural Cooperative's rice field participating in the 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice project has been granted VietGAP certification. This certification is valid for 3 years, applicable to 51 hectares of rice of 46 farmer households.
