Latest domestic and global pepper price update as of January 13, 2025
On the global market, pepper prices remained stable on January 13.
Specifically, the price of black pepper in Lampung, Indonesia, stayed at USD 6,841/ton, while Muntok white pepper held steady at $ 8,953/ton.
The price of Kuching ASTA black pepper in Malaysia was $ 8,700/ton, and ASTA white pepper from the same country traded at $ 11,100/ton.
In Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper was priced at $ 6,350/ton.
In Vietnam, export prices for black pepper declined, with the 500 g/l variety trading at $ 6,350/ton and the 550 g/l variety at $ 6,650/ton. Similarly, the export price for white pepper was at $ 9,550/ton.
The global pepper price today remains stable. Over the past week, the global pepper market has fluctuated in opposite directions.
Accordingly, the price of black pepper in Malaysia rose sharply by 2.35-3.74%. Similarly, the prices of Indonesian pepper and Brazilian black pepper also increased slightly.
Meanwhile, Vietnam's exported pepper prices have dropped significantly by 0.52-0.78%.
Thus, the global pepper price on January 13, 2025, has not changed compared to yesterday.
Domestic pepper prices on January 13 remain stable compared to yesterday.
Specifically, Dak Lak today maintains a price of VND 147,000/kg;
Dak Nong's pepper price today remains at VND 147,500/kg;
Gia Lai's pepper price today is still trading at VND 147,000/kg;
Dong Nai traders continue to buy pepper at VND 147,000/kg;
Ba Ria - Vung Tau's pepper price is currently VND 147,000/kg;
And Binh Phuoc traders are still transacting at VND 147,000/kg.
Domestic pepper prices today show no new fluctuations. Over the past week, the domestic pepper market has dropped sharply by VND 1,000 - 2,500.
According to data from Vietnam's General Department of Customs, in 2024, the United States was Vietnam's largest pepper export market, with a volume of 73,710 tons, valued at USD 407.6 million, accounting for 29.5% of the volume and 31% of the value of total pepper exports, marking a significant increase of 34% in volume and 84.2% in value compared to 2023.
This is also the highest volume and value of exports to this market ever recorded.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on January 13, 2025, are trading around VND 147,000 - 147,500/kg.
