Latest global and domestic pepper prices on December 19, 2024
On the global market, pepper prices on December 19 showed mixed movements.
The price of black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia, decreased slightly by 0.32%, reaching $ 6,810/ton. The price of white pepper from Muntok also decreased by 0.31%, standing at $ 9,005/ton.
The price of black pepper Kuching ASTA from Malaysia is $ 8,200/ton, while white pepper ASTA from Malaysia is priced at $ 10,400/ton.
In Brazil, the price of black pepper ASTA 570 is trading at $ 6,350/ton.
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper 500 g/l is $ 6,400/ton (up 1.56%), while 550 g/l is priced at $ 6,700/ton (up 1.49%). The export price of white pepper is $ 9,600/ton (up 2.08%).
Global pepper prices today show a strong increase for Vietnam's export pepper, while Indonesia's prices decreased slightly. Other markets remain stable.
Thus, global pepper prices on December 19, 2024, have shown mixed movements compared to yesterday.
Domestically, pepper prices continued their upward trend compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Dak Lak, the price increased by VND 500, reaching VND 147,000/kg.
In Dak Nong, the price reached VND 147,200/kg, up by VND 700.
In Gia Lai, the price traded at VND 146,000/kg, an increase of VND 500.
In Dong Nai, traders bought pepper at VND 147,000/kg, a rise of VND 1,000.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the price increased by VND 700, reaching VND 146,700/kg.
Lastly, in Binh Phuoc, traders traded pepper at VND 147,000/kg, up by VND 1,000.
Domestic pepper prices today increased by VND 500 - 1,000, pushing this agricultural product to a high of VND 147,000/kg.
According to VPSA, in the first 15 days of December, Vietnam exported 7,029 tons of various types of pepper, with a total revenue of $ 46.5 million. This represents a 30.2% decrease in volume but a 22.9% increase in revenue compared to the same period last year.
From the beginning of the year until December 15, total pepper exports reached 242,364 tons, with a revenue of $ 1.26 billion. This marks a 5.2% decrease in volume but a 45.2% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2023. The average export price of pepper was $ 5,216/ton, reflecting a 53.14% increase compared to the same time last year.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on December 19, 2024, are trading around VND 146,000 - 147,000/kg.
