Pepper prices on 11/21 in the world

Around the world, the pepper market on November 21 had mixed increases and decreases in Indonesia but remained stable in other countries.

Accordingly, the price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia decreased by 1.25%, to $ 4,077/ton. The price of Muntok white pepper in this country increased by 0.56%, to $ 6,289/ton.

Malaysia's Kuching ASTA black pepper price remained stable at $ 4,900/ton; This country's ASTA white pepper is still priced at $ 7,300/ton.

For the Brazilian market, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper remained at $ 3,100/ton.

In Vietnam, export prices of 500 and 550 g/l black pepper are at $ 3,500 and $ 3,600/ton, respectively. The export price of white pepper remained at $ 5,100/ton.

World pepper prices are falling sharply for Indonesian black pepper but increasing slightly for white pepper. Meanwhile, prices in other markets fluctuated sideways. 

After 2 consecutive weeks of decline, Indian pepper prices increased again last week. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan domestic pepper prices continue to decrease.

​In Southeast Asia, Indonesia's domestic and international pepper prices were stable last week. Malaysian domestic black pepper prices recorded a decrease last week. Meanwhile, prices of other types of pepper remain stable and unchanged. 

Only Vietnam's domestic black pepper price continued to increase in the past 2 weeks. Prices of other types of pepper remain stable and unchanged. It can be seen that pepper prices last week increased in India and Vietnam. 

Regarding the pepper situation in Brazil, farmers in this country are very concerned about the lack of rain affecting crops. The current conditions described drought weather as "worsening". The situations are very alarming and could certainly lead to flowering and fruiting rates of pepper plants being affected in the upcoming yields. 

Brazil exported about 7,376 tons of pepper in October 2023, bringing total output to about 65 thousand tons in the first 10 months of the year, down about 6% over the same period last year. Vietnam is still the leading pepper importer from Brazil.

Thus, world pepper prices on 11/21/2023 fluctuated in opposite directions in Indonesia compared to yesterday.

Domestically, the pepper market price on November 21 increased by VND 500 compared to yesterday.

Specifically, Dak Lak and Dak Nong purchased pepper at VND 70,000/kg;

In Gia Lai, pepper prices traded up to VND 69,000/kg;

In Dong Nai, traders increased the purchase price to VND 68,500/kg;

The latest pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau reached VND 71,500/kg;

Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc traded pepper at VND 71,000/kg.

Domestic pepper prices increased slightly today, thereby bringing the highest transaction level to VND 71,500/kg.

Thus, the domestic pepper price on 11/21/2023 is trading around VND 68,000 - 71,000/kg.
