Pepper prices on September 17 globally

Globally, pepper prices on September 17 experienced a sharp decline in Brazil.

Specifically, the price of black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia, remained unchanged at $ 7,562/ton, while the price of white pepper from Muntok stood firm at $ 9,121/ton.

In Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper was priced at $ 8,800/ton, while white ASTA pepper from the same country was priced at $ 10,900/ton.

In Brazil, black pepper ASTA 570 traded at $ 7,000/ton (a 4.29% decrease).

In Vietnam, the export price for black pepper (500 g/l) was at $ 7,100/ton, while the 550 g/l type was at $ 7,225/ton. White pepper for export was priced at $ 10,150/ton.

Global pepper prices today are mostly steady, with the exception of black pepper from Brazil, which dropped by $ 400/ton.

Last week, the pepper market reacted positively as no countries reduced prices. Specifically:

  • After two weeks of stability, both domestic and export pepper prices in India increased last week. Meanwhile, domestic prices in Sri Lanka continued to rise for the second consecutive week.
  • In Indonesia, black pepper prices remained stable, while white pepper prices increased over the week.
  • In Malaysia, after two weeks of decline, domestic pepper prices stabilized last week, while export prices continued to rise.
  • Brazilian black pepper and Chinese white pepper both saw price increases. Meanwhile, Cambodian black pepper prices remained unchanged.
  • In Vietnam, both domestic and international pepper prices have increased over the past two weeks.

Thus, global pepper prices on 09/17/2024 remained mostly unchanged compared to yesterday.

Pepper prices on September 17 domestically

In the domestic market, pepper prices on September 17 saw little fluctuation compared to yesterday.

Specifically, Dak Lak dropped by VND 1,000, with pepper now being purchased at VND 156,000/kg.

Similarly, prices in Dak Nong fell to VND 156,000/kg.

In Gia Lai, pepper is trading at VND 154,000/kg.

In Dong Nai, traders continue to buy pepper at VND 154,000/kg.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau prices remain at VND 155,000/kg.

Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc continues to trade pepper at VND 152,000/kg.

Domestic pepper prices today dropped slightly by VND 1,000 in Dak Lak and Dak Nong but remained unchanged in other key regions. This adjustment brought the pepper price down to around VND 155,000/kg.

Thus, domestic pepper prices on 09/17/2024, are trading in the range of VND 152,000 - 155,000/kg.
