Pepper prices on September 16 globally

Globally, pepper prices on September 16, remain unchanged.

The price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia has increased by 0.04%, reaching $ 7,562/ton. The price of Muntok white pepper from Indonesia has also risen by 0.04%, standing at $ 9,121/ton.

Kuching ASTA black pepper from Malaysia is priced at $ 8,800D/ton, while ASTA white pepper from Malaysia is at $ 10,900/ton.

In Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper is trading at $ 7,500/ton.

In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper (500 g/l) is $ 7,100/ton, while the 550 g/l type is priced at $ 7,225/ton. The export price of white pepper is $ 10,150/ton.

Today, global pepper prices are steady. Over the past week, the global pepper market showed positive growth, with no country reporting a decrease. Both domestic and international pepper prices in India have increased again after two weeks of stability.

In the domestic market, pepper prices on September 16 continue to be stable compared to yesterday.

Specifically, in Dak Lak, pepper is still being purchased at VND 156,000/kg.

In Dak Nong, pepper prices are maintained at VND 156,000/kg.

In Gia Lai, the price is VND 154,000/kg.

Traders in Dong Nai are buying pepper at VND 154,000/kg.

In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the price remains at VND 155,000/kg.

In Binh Phuoc, pepper is still being traded at VND 152,000/kg.

Today, domestic pepper prices remain stable, with the highest price reaching VND 156,000/kg. Over the past week, the domestic pepper market has responded positively, with prices increasing significantly by VND 2,000 - 3,000.

According to the General Department of Customs, in August, Vietnam's pepper exports to Germany totalled 1,080 tons, valued at $ 6.4 million. This represents a decrease of 24.4% in volume and 29.2% in value compared to the previous month. However, it shows a substantial increase of 74.2% in volume and 2.4 times in value compared to the same period last year.

For the first eight months of the year, pepper exports to Germany reached 12,133 tons, with a total value of $ 63.7 million. This marks a significant increase of 97.5% in volume and 2.5 times (151.8%) in value compared to the same period last year.

As a result, Germany has moved up to the second position among Vietnam’s pepper export markets, following the United States, with its market share increasing from 3.3% in the same period last year to 6.6% in the first eight months of this year.

Thus, on 09/16/2024, domestic pepper prices are trading around VND 152,000 - 156,000/kg.
