Pepper prices on July 18 globally

On the global market, pepper prices have rebounded in Indonesia. The price of Lampung black pepper increased by 0.46%, reaching $ 7,223/ton. Similarly, the price of Muntok white pepper in Indonesia also rose by 0.46% to $ 9,196/ton.

In Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper is priced at $ 7,500/ton, while ASTA white pepper from the same country is at $ 8,800/ton.

In Brazil, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper remains steady at $ 7,125/ton.

In Vietnam, the export prices are trading at $ 6,000/ton for 500 g/l black pepper and $ 6,600/ton for 550 g/l black pepper. The export price for white pepper remains at $ 8,800/ton.

The global pepper price today has turned upwards again in Indonesia after a slight decline in recent days. Meanwhile, there have been no new developments in other countries.

Thus, the global pepper price on 07/18/2024, has slightly increased in Indonesia compared to yesterday.

Pepper prices on July 18 domestically

Domestically, the pepper market on July 18, has seen slight decreases in some places compared to yesterday:

In Dak Lak, pepper is still being purchased at VND 148,000/kg.

Pepper in Dak Nong continues at VND 149,000/kg.

Pepper in Gia Lai has decreased by an additional VND 1,000 to VND 147,000/kg.

Similarly, traders in Dong Nai are trading pepper at VND 147,000/kg.

Pepper in Ba Ria - Vung Tau has decreased to VND 148,000/kg.

Traders in Binh Phuoc are still trading pepper at VND 148,000/kg.

Domestic pepper prices today continue to decrease by VND 1,000 in some localities, with the highest level reaching VND 149,000 /kg.

According to VSPA, Vietnam exported 9,993 tons of pepper in the first 15 days of July 2024, achieving a total export turnover of $ 56.5 million.

Previously, in the first 16 days of June 2024, Vietnam exported 16,211 tons of pepper. It can be seen that pepper exports in the first half of July 2024 have sharply declined.

Conversely, Vietnam imported 746 tons of pepper, with a total import turnover of $ 4.5 millio. Olam and KSS Vietnam are the two main importers, with 232 tons accounting for 31.1% and 75 tons accounting for 10.1%, respectively. The main sources of imported pepper are Indonesia, accounting for 438 tons or 58.7%, and Cambodia, accounting for 229 tons or 30.7%.

In the first 16 days of June 2024, Vietnam imported 1,357 tons of pepper. Compared to the same period last month, imports have also halved.

Thus, domestic pepper prices on 07/18/2024, are trading around VND 147,000 - 149,000/kg.
