The ceremony was a practical activity in response to the "Tet Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh," while also implementing Directive No. 22/BNNMT dated January 5, 2025 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on strengthening forest management, protection, and development in 2026. The event was also associated with the implementation of Vietnam’s commitments at COP26, reaffirming the country’s determination to respond to climate change and move toward the goal of net-zero emissions.
Editor-in-Chief of VAN News Nguyen Ngoc Thach emphasized that in the context of increasingly complex climate change, natural disasters, sea-level rise, and the depletion of natural resources are directly affecting livelihoods and production. Therefore, tree planting, afforestation, and ecosystem protection carry special significance. This is not only an action for environmental protection, but also a long-term solution for developing a green and circular economy, aiming toward sustainable development.

This year’s tree-planting ceremony involves 9,000 trees and is part of the "Panasonic for a Green Vietnam" Program. The activity reflects the sense of responsibility and joint efforts of the business community, including the active support of Panasonic Vietnam Co., Ltd., together with authorities at all levels and press agencies.
Through concrete actions, the program helps spread the message of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, protecting biodiversity, and preserving the living environment for future generations, while reaffirming efforts to fulfill international commitments on climate change response.
As the official press agency of the MAE, the Editor-in-Chief Thach clearly identifies its responsibility in communication efforts to promote effective models, best practices, and practical initiatives in environmental protection, green agricultural development, and climate change adaptation.

From practical activities such as the tree-planting ceremony in Thai Thuy, the spirit of love for nature and environmental awareness is expected to continue spreading throughout the community, contributing to building a green, clean, and beautiful Vietnam with sustainable development.
Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ngoc Thach expressed his appreciation for the attention and direction of leaders at all levels; the coordination of local agencies and units; the companionship of the business community, especially Panasonic Vietnam Co., Ltd.; and the active participation of press and media agencies. He also expressed his hope for continued support to carry out more meaningful activities for environmental protection and the country’s sustainable development.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Dong Thuy Anh Commune People’s Committee Tran Tuan Kiet said that the locality was honored to be selected as the venue for the “Tet Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh," marking the launch of emulation movements in labor, production, and hometown development from the very first days of the new spring.
At the event, it was also reported that over the past many years, a total of 1,293.4 hectares of mangrove forest have been planted in Dong Thuy Anh Commune. These achievements in area coverage and greenery stand as clear evidence that this is not only an act of environmental protection, but also a long-term solution for developing a green and circular economy, moving toward sustainable development.

The mangrove forest here serves as a “green lung” and a “fortress,” shielding the area from storms, monsoon winds, and tidal surges that cause erosion and destruction. It is also a source of livelihoods and income for many local residents, standing as clear evidence of the care and protection efforts undertaken by the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Dong Thuy Anh Commune.
The People’s Committee of Dong Thuy Anh Commune coordinated with relevant units to organize today’s launching ceremony and tree-planting activity, aiming to create a vibrant atmosphere of emulation, raise awareness and responsibility among officials, Party members, and residents in planting, caring for, and protecting trees, and contribute to building a green, bright, clean, and beautiful living environment in support of the locality’s sustainable socio-economic development.
According to the Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee, the locality has clearly assigned responsibilities and specific tasks to each unit, while coordinating with relevant agencies and organizations in managing, caring for, and protecting the trees after planting to ensure healthy growth, high survival rates, and long-term effectiveness. Efforts that have been well implemented will continue to be carried out even more effectively in the future.
