Celebrating the launch of VAN News

Open letter from Editor-in-Chief

(VAN) This launch marks a meaningful milestone, introducing Vietnam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper, the official press agency of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

To our readers and contributors, near and far,

While our name is new, Vietnam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper (VAN News) carries forward the proud legacy of two long-standing publications: the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper (originally Tac Dat Newspaper, founded in 1945) and the Resources and Environment Newspaper (established in 2005). This merger provides us with a strong foundation of experience, a talented team, and a shared aspiration to grow and thrive in this new era.

Since its establishment, VAN News has received close support from the Ministry’s leadership, enabling us to quickly strengthen our organization and stabilize our operations. We are fully aware of the vital responsibility we carry in communicating for a sector that oversees essential areas — from agriculture, fisheries, and forestry to resources, environment, and climate.

In today's digital age, as print newspapers face challenges, we must innovate more boldly — enhancing content quality, improving presentation, and expanding across digital platforms. Every print edition remains a carefully curated product of intellect, a mirror of real life, and a vessel of deep human values.

Alongside our print publication, our online platform nongnghiepmoitruong.vn will grow in a modern, multi-platform direction — integrating television, radio, English-language content, and social media channels. Our goal is to convey the Party and State’s policies quickly and vividly, connecting state management with daily life, science with production, regions with one another, and Vietnam with the wider world.

Dear readers and contributors,

The name Vietnam Agriculture and Nature reflects the two core pillars of our content. In an era when "greening" production and consumption is a global trend, it is vital that industry media take the lead, raising awareness, inspiring change, and spreading positive actions.

We hope that, through each page of the newspaper, readers will feel the movement of the country, from fields, forests, to water resources, climate, and environment. The newspaper will be a place to identify problems, analyze phenomena, and suggest solutions, all based on humanity and practicality.

We are proud of our young, dynamic team of reporters, inherited from our two predecessor newspapers. However, as the scope of our work expands, each journalist needs to dig deeper, reflect comprehensively, and ask the right questions to accompany society in finding the right solutions. That is why we constantly practice our skills, improve our knowledge, maintain professional ethics, and always put the common interest first.

We believe that people are the most valuable resource, and humanity is the most beautiful resource.

Every article and every program of VAN News always aims at kindness, cooperation and the desire for change. Whether writing about projects, models or people, what is honored is always humanistic values.

A new journey opens - not only with faith but also with gratitude and responsibility. In that journey, every contribution from readers and writers - no matter how small - is a precious brick, building the foundation for an honest, modern and serving press agency.

We are honored to accompany farmers’ sweat, entrepreneurs’ dreams, environmental initiatives and efforts to preserve resources for future generations.

VAN News aims to be a quiet yet powerful voice in the epic development of Vietnam.

On this occasion, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the generations of leaders, cadres, reporters and staff of the two previous newspapers - those who have built a solid foundation.

I would like to thank the leaders of Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment over the past few years for always directing, supporting, encouraging and accompanying the VAN News.

We also sincerely thank the business community, scientists, international organizations, and readers near and far for their trust, collaboration and support for the development of the newspaper.

In the coming journey, we hope to continue receiving such valuable companionship - a great source of motivation for us to innovate, improve quality, and spread humanistic values, fostering a green agriculture and a sustainable environment for the future.
