According to many gardeners in Vinh Long, Hoa Loc mango is currently priced at VND 30,000 - 35,000/kg (grade 1), and grade 2 - 3 mangoes cost VND 20,000 - 25,000/kg, an increase of about VND 5,000 - 7,000/kg compared to last month; Cat Chu mango is at VND 18,000 - 20,000/kg, Taiwan mangoes are at VND 15,000 - 16,000/kg, an increase of about VND 3,000 - 5,000/kg compared to the same period last year, some are nearly VND 10,000/kg higher.

Some traders said that mango prices are higher than every year because they are exported to many places, helping mango barn owners in purchasing. In addition, the domestic demand for mango consumption has also increased, especially since many supermarket chains and convenience stores have come to the gardens to sign purchasing contracts for farmers in cooperatives.

Many mango farmers at An Loc islet in An Loc hamlet, Hoa Tan commune (Cau Ke district, Tra Vinh province) said that this year due to extreme weather affecting production, while at the same time, many farmers are switching to growing other crops, the supply of mangoes is not as much as in previous years. Cat Chu mango price increased compared to the same period last year by VND 6,000 - 7,000/kg. After deducting all costs, the gardener's lowest profit is VND 4,000/kg and farmers are very excited.

Mr Vo Thanh Xuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Tan commune (Cau Ke district, Tra Vinh province) said that the commune's main tree is the Cat Chu mango with an area of about 90 ha. Currently, the locality has established a mango cooperative. The cooperative's mangoes have achieved OCOP 3 stars. The cooperative has signed contracts with domestic and foreign companies and has exported mangoes to a number of countries in Asia. Compared to some trees such as durian, jackfruit, and banana..., mango has lower economic value, but in return, this is a suitable crop that requires little care, so it is favoured by many farmers.
