The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has issued a decision to establish a Working Group tasked with preparing for Viet Nam’s participation in GREEN EXPO 2027 in Yokohama, Japan.
The establishment of the Working Group follows Decision No. 629/QD-TTg, issued by the Prime Minister on April 6, 2026, approving Viet Nam’s participation plan for the exhibition. Operating on a part-time basis, the group comprises representatives from relevant agencies and units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

The Working Group is responsible for advising on the establishment of an Organizing Committee and a Task Force to implement Viet Nam’s participation plan. It will also prepare draft documents, dossiers, and related materials concerning the composition, functions, responsibilities, operational mechanisms, and task allocation of these bodies.
In addition, the group will coordinate with relevant agencies and organizations to review and finalize documents for submission to competent authorities for consideration and approval. The head of the Working Group will oversee and coordinate the implementation of assigned tasks and report progress to the ministry’s leadership in accordance with regulations.
Scheduled to be held in Yokohama, Japan, GREEN EXPO 2027 is a major international event focused on horticulture and sustainable development. The exhibition has been recognized as an A1-class event and approved under the International Convention Relating to International Exhibitions.
Under the theme “Scenery of the Future for Happiness”, the expo aims to explore solutions to global challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss, and to promote lifestyles in harmony with nature.
Viet Nam’s participation in GREEN EXPO 2027 is expected to enhance the country’s international profile, showcase achievements in green development, sustainable agriculture, and environmental protection, while strengthening international cooperation in green growth and sustainable development.
