Live pig prices on September 30 in the North

The live pig market in the North remains stable compared to yesterday.

Accordingly, VND 68,000/kg is the lowest price in the region and is being traded in Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Tuyen Quang.

Except for Hung Yen, Hai Duong, and Hanoi, which are maintaining the highest price in the country at VND 70,000/kg, other localities are keeping the price at VND 69,000/kg.

Thus, on 09/30/2024, live pig prices in the North are trading at levels of VND 68,000 - 70,000/kg.

Live pig prices on September 30 in the Central and Central Highlands

The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands remains unchanged compared to yesterday.

Specifically, Thua Thien Hue is purchasing at the lowest price in the region, at VND 64,000/kg.

Other localities continue to trade around the mark of VND 65,000 - 68,000/kg.

Thus, ON 09/30/2024, live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands are purchased at around VND 64,000 - 68,000/kg.

The live pig market in the South shows no new fluctuations compared to yesterday.

In this region, VND 67,000/kg is the highest price and is being purchased in Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Dong Thap.

Other localities continue to maintain pig prices in the range of VND 65,000 - 67,000/kg.

Thus, on 09/30/2024, live pig prices in the South are trading in the range of VND 64,000 - 67,000/kg.

Thanh Hoa: The local government directs the handling of information regarding a pig farm poisoning the river

The People's Committee of Thieu Hoa District (Thanh Hoa) has just issued a document directing the handling of information reported by the Vietnam Agricultural Newspaper regarding the article titled "Caught red-handed: a pig farm with nearly 1,000 pigs poisoning the entire river."

In addition, the People's Committee of Thieu Hoa has established a verification team to check and document the situation with the owner of this facility. The inspection record notes that there is wastewater discharge from the pig farm into the river.

The working group has requested Mr. Ngo Van Lam's household to refrain from discharging wastewater from the settling tank through the drainage ditch into the environment; to rectify the situation by dredging the remaining waste in the storage tanks. They are also advised to use biological products for decomposition and odour control, continue to reduce the herd size and clean the pigpen and farm premises.
