Since the afternoon of September 22, heavy rain has occurred, with increasing rainfall leading to localized flooding in many areas, especially low-lying places like Vinh City and Dien Chau District. The flooding has caused significant damage to agriculture, particularly affecting livestock farmers.
During this period, Mr Nguyen Van Tam's family in Trung Song Hamlet, Dien Thinh Commune, Dien Chau District suffered considerable losses as their farm was completely submerged. It is known that Mr. Tam has a total flock of 15,000 chickens, and some were about to be sold when the unforeseen incident occurred. Preliminary counts indicate that about 500 chickens have died, while the remaining ones are struggling to survive, and it is expected that many more will perish.
A preliminary assessment estimates that this natural disaster has cost Mr. Tam's family hundreds of millions of VND.
