On April 17, Vietnam's Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy chaired a ministerial session titled "Riding with the Green Revolution 4.0: The Journey of Transforming the Food System for a Sustainable Era" within the framework of the P4G Summit.

Concluding the event, Minister Do Duc Duy expressed his impression of some of the delegates' opinions. The first is the policy initiative to integrate digital transformation innovation into the agricultural program for farmers. The second is to ensure climate justice and food justice.
Third, initiatives, resources, and financial mechanisms to support small-scale farmers and vulnerable communities. Fourth, the role of science, technology, and innovation in promoting and implementing actions for climate, food security, and farmers’ livelihoods.
Fifth, the experience of pioneering organizations in applying technology for the green transformation of food systems, including mobilization from the private sector.
Sixth, the opinion on the strong commitment of countries and donors to support the practical application of digital technology and green technology.
Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy emphasized: "Through today's discussion, we see more clearly that transforming the food system is no longer a story of each country, but a global problem; not only the work of the agricultural sector, but the common responsibility of the whole system – from the government, businesses, international organizations, to each farmer."
Through the discussion session, the leader of Vietnam's agriculture and environment sector said that the opinions suggested five specific solutions that can be acted upon immediately.
Firstly, increased investment in digital transformation and green technology in agriculture is linked to the goal of reducing emissions, improving productivity, and promoting supply chain transparency.

Second, develop a green financial system and carbon market that is fair, efficient, and accessible to farmers and small-scale businesses.
Third, local capacity can be strengthened, from open data sharing and digital skills training to support policies tailored to the characteristics of each region and vulnerable groups.
Fourth, develop public-private-community partnership (PPCP) models, taking advantage of each party’s strengths to share risks and work together in action.
And finally, multilateral and substantive cooperation is the only way to overcome food crises, climate, livelihood, and environmental challenges together.
“From today’s forum, Vietnam would like to reaffirm: We are committed to continuing to be an active and responsible partner with countries, international organizations, and businesses in the journey of transforming the global food system towards transparency, responsibility, and sustainability,” Mr. Do Duc Duy shared with delegates.
The Government of Vietnam has promulgated and implemented the Sustainable agriculture and rural development strategy for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; the National Action Plan to transform a transparent, responsible, and sustainable food system in Viet Nam by 2030; and the Scheme on scientific development and application and technology transfer to promote the circular economy in agriculture by 2030. Additionally, the Minister mentioned the One Million Hectares of High-Quality and Low-Emission Rice in the Mekong Delta as a national vision for green growth and food security.
The Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Environment calls on everyone to turn today's commitments into concrete actions tomorrow, for a future where everyone – from the highlands of Ethiopia to the plains of South Africa, from the fields of Can Tho – Vietnam to the organic farms of Ireland – benefits from transparent, responsible, fair, smart and green food systems.
Finally, Minister Do Duc Duy concluded with a familiar but meaningful image of Vietnamese farmers: "A grain of rice is not just food – it is also the heart of the farmer, the crystallization of technology, nature, and the aspiration of mankind to live sustainably.”
P4G Summit (Hanoi, April 15-17, 2025), themed "Sustainable and people-centered green transition,” is the largest multilateral high-level event on green growth hosted by Vietnam in the 2021-2026 period.
