In Vietnam, concerns over the weather arise from forecasts that La Niña will become active in the final months of this year in the Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing region. La Niña could result in more rainfall than usual, potentially disrupting farmers' harvesting activities.

Delays in harvesting progress could affect export activities and even reduce yield due to quality deterioration. Previously, due to prolonged heatwaves earlier this year, analysts predicted that Vietnam's 2024–2025 coffee crop yield might decline by 10-15% compared to the 2023–2024 crop.

Coffee prices on November 19 globally

In the most recent trading session, Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange for January 2025 delivery stood at $ 4,773 /ton, March 2025 delivery at $ 4,699/ton, and May 2025 delivery at $ 4,637/ton.

On the New York exchange, Arabica coffee prices for December 2024 delivery were 281.8 cents/lb, while March 2025 delivery was at 283.3 cents/lb.

In Brazil, although rains returned in October, the precipitation levels were below historical averages, raising concerns among analysts that the 2024–2025 coffee crop may not fully recover from the damages caused by the record-breaking heatwave during the critical flowering phase.

Consulting firm StoneX forecasts that Brazil's coffee production for the 2024–2025 season will decrease by 0.4% compared to the current season, primarily due to a decline in Arabica production impacted by drought conditions.
