Latest domestic and global coffee prices on December 17, 2024
On the global market, both the London and New York exchanges increased on December 17.
Specifically, Robusta prices on the London exchange for January 2025 delivery rose by $ 21 (equivalent to 0.4%) to $ 5,230/ton, while March 2025 delivery increased slightly by $ 19 (equivalent to 0.37%) to $ 5,203/ton.
Meanwhile, on the New York exchange, Arabica prices for March 2025 delivery surged by 7.9 cents (equivalent to 2.47%) to 327.40 cents/lb, and May 2025 delivery jumped by 7.6 cents (equivalent to 2.4%) to 324.65 cents/lb.

Global coffee prices are rising on both exchanges. Robusta maintained its upward trend from the end of last week, while Arabica recovered.
Speculators increased buying on exchanges amid concerns about the crop in Brazil and unpredictable weather conditions in key coffee-growing regions of Vietnam.
Thus, global coffee prices on December 17, 2024, rebounded compared to yesterday.
In the domestic market, coffee prices on December 17 remained stable compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Lam Dong province, the three districts of Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha are trading at VND 123,500/kg.
In Dak Lak province, Cu M'gar district is purchasing at VND 125,000/kg, while Ea H'leo and Buon Ho districts are trading at VND 124,900/kg.
In Dak Nong province, traders in Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap are trading at VND 125,200/kg and VND 125,100/kg, respectively.
In Gia Lai province, Chu Prong district is trading at VND 125,900/kg, while Pleiku and La Grai are holding steady at VND 124,900/kg.
Meanwhile, coffee purchase prices in Kon Tum today stand at VND 125,900/kg.
Domestic coffee prices today remain unchanged, with the highest level still above VND 125,000/kg.
On December 12, the Plant Protection Department, in collaboration with GCP in Vietnam, held a preliminary review to assess the results of 2024 and plan activities for 2025 as part of the sub-project “Assessing the impact of intercropping in coffee gardens on major pests and promoting responsible pesticide use to develop sustainable coffee production in the Central Highlands provinces of Vietnam.”
At the same time, investigations and surveys were conducted on pesticide use, along with assessments of the impact of pesticide use in intercropped coffee models; evaluating the effects of pesticide use on coffee and other intercropped plants; reviewing and cross-checking permitted and restricted/prohibited active ingredients.
