Latest Arabica and Robusta prices as of December 13, 2024
Another major trading company, Neumann Kaffee Gruppe, forecasts the upcoming arabica crop of Brazil, the leading producer, to reach 40 million bags, in contrast to Volcafe, which has reduced its forecast to 34.4 million bags (a decrease of 11 million bags). This indicates a significant difference in market estimates.
Meanwhile, coffee roasters in Brazil are raising prices by a wide margin, and traders predict that prices will increase in many markets, which may slow down consumption, especially in developing countries.
Traders also report that out-of-season rains have returned to Vietnam, the leading robusta producer, potentially causing further harvest disruptions and sparking new concerns over quality.
Robusta and arabica, to a certain extent, can replace each other, so the shortage of one may increase demand for the other.
