According to the most recent information from the Vietnam Trade Counselor in Italy, up to sixteen cashew containers have been retained in Italy following prompt interventions.

Vietnam Cashew Association will also continue to work with the Ministry of Transport and shipping lines to capture and withdraw remaining cashew containers. According to Vinacas, the Ministry of Transport's responsibility in handling legal procedures for documents and data related to the return of cashew containers is critical and urgent in this situation.

Vinacas is recommending to the Government next-step solutions to assist enterprises, seeking ways to handle the withdrawal containers, such as seeking new clients in Italy to consume those goods or expediting transportation to Vietnam to mitigate damage.

Additionally, the cashew association urged that businesses engaged in this issue prepare necessary papers (from signing through shipping and delivery) so that Vinacas may continue to work with competent agencies to assist businesses in withdrawing cashew containers.

Vinacas also confirmed the effective retaining of 16 cashew containers at the Italian port as a result of drastic directions from the Prime Minister, central ministries and departments, as well as the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate in Italy.
