Thứ Năm 28/08/2025 , 11:05 (GMT+7)(VAN) The exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's Agriculture and Environment sector emphasizes the nation's global export standing, food security, and reform.
The Vietnam Exhibition Center hosted the solemn opening ceremony of the national exhibition "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" on the morning of August 28.
The event commemorated the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day on September 2.

The Agriculture and Environment pavilion is an important turning point that is closely associated with the ministry's 80-year history, standing out within this extensive and symbolic space.

It recognizes the sector's significant accomplishments over the course of nearly four decades of doi moi (reform), including the establishment of national food security and the promotion of Vietnam as one of the world's foremost exporters of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products.

Tran Duc Thang, the Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment, toured the pavilion and commended its contemporary, vibrant design, which combines digital technology with traditional elements.

From the early years of striving to ensure "enough food and clothing" for the population to Vietnam's emergence as a billion-dollar agricultural exporter with globally recognized products such as rice, coffee, pepper, seafood, and timber, exhibits featuring LED screens, 3D models, and virtual spaces vividly recreate the sector's journey.

The exhibition, according to Acting Minister Thang, not only showcases the sector's successes but also demonstrates its enduring partnership with the nation at every stage of development.

“This must be an exhibition of stature, clearly reflecting the sector’s role in transforming Vietnam from a subsistence agriculture to a country with a firm position in the global value chain”, he stressed.

Le Trong Dam, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, introduced the publication "Healthy Environment - Prosperous Agriculture" at the event. This publication offers a comprehensive overview of the ministry's 80-year journey. Acting Minister Thang paid tribute to the publication for its ability to document the sector's significant accomplishments throughout its history.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment curated the pavilion at Hall A of the National Exhibition Center, which is a unique feature of the exhibition.

The pavilion is themed "The Essence of Handicrafts in the Digital Age and Green Economy". The space has captured the attention of both delegates and visitors due to its seamless integration of traditional values with a sustainable, eco-friendly development orientation in the context of international integration.

The national exhibition "80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness" will be on display for several days, providing the public, international friends, and younger generations with the opportunity to relive the nation's historic journey and recognize the Agriculture and Environment sector's consistent, essential contributions to Vietnam's development.
The Agriculture and Environment pavilion, which is a component of the national exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025), is launched from August 28 to September 5 at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi.
In alignment with the theme "80 Years of Agricultural and Environmental Development for National Prosperity and a Sustainable Future," the pavilion is conceptualized around the emotional progression "Glorious Past – Innovative Present – Breakthrough Future".
It is structured into thematic zones, which include the following: Origins and Development (1945–1986), Renewal and Integration (1986–2020), Achievements of 2020–2025, Environmental Protection, Resources and Forestry, Future Vision with Technological Innovation and Green Transition, and International Exchange and Global Integration.
The exhibit combines physical displays with contemporary technology. The exhibition illustrates the sector's resilience by emphasizing advancements in food security, new rural development, digital transformation, circular economy, low-carbon agriculture, and technological innovation. This underscores Vietnam's future-oriented vision and profound international integration.
