Local authorities have seriously implemented seed quality management. Regarding the implementation of forest environmental service payments, as of November 29, 2024, the country has collected VND 3,374.99 billion. The total estimated value for 2024 is over VND 3,400 billion, exceeding the 2024 plan by 7%.
Regarding forest certification, in the first 11 months of 2024, about 135,000 hectares of forest were newly certified, exceeding the 2024 plan, bringing the total area of forest with forest certification nationwide to 595,488 hectares. In 2024, the total area of forest with certification nationwide is estimated at about 610,000 hectares, reaching 120%.
The target for 2025 is that the forestry sector strives to achieve a growth rate of forestry production value of 4.5-5.0%; forest product export value of USD 18 billion; concentrated forest planting of 250,000 hectares; forest area certified for sustainable forest management of 70,000 hectares; Forest environmental service revenue: VND 3,200 billion.
To achieve the set goals, the Forestry Department determined to continue to improve mechanisms, policies, and legal documents on forestry and complete the development of legal documents according to the 2025 plan assigned by the Ministry to ensure progress and quality.
Develop and submit to the Prime Minister for approval of the Sustainable Forestry Development Program for the period 2026-2030. Implement activities on biodiversity conservation of forest ecosystems; ecotourism, recreation, entertainment; sustainable use of forest environment; effectively implement the policy of payment for forest environmental services.
Implement the plan to grant Sustainable Forest Management certificates, implement the recognition of the national forest certification system and meet the conditions for interconnection with the international PEFC forest certification; widely implement the issuance of forest certificates according to the National Forest Certification System.
