Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports are forecasted to reach USD 7.2 billion

(VAN) The General Secretary of Vinafruit said that Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export turnover increased from USD 3.3 billion in 2022 to USD 5.6 billion in 2023 and will reach USD 7.2 billion in 2024.

According to the Organizing Committee, after 6 successful events, HortEx Vietnam has affirmed its position as a prestigious international trade event and a strategic business destination for Vietnam's vegetable, flower, and fruit industry, in the region, and globally. HortEx Vietnam is constantly expanding in scale and influence, with a steady increase in the number of exhibiting enterprises and trade visitors each year.

On the morning of December 12, in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee of the 7th International Exhibition and Conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology in Vietnam (HortEx Vietnam 2025) held a Conference to introduce this event.

At the Conference, Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit), said that the vegetable, flower, and fruit industry is not only one of the key agricultural sectors of our country but also plays an essential role in promoting the economy, creating jobs and bringing stable income to millions of agricultural workers.

In particular, with its geographical location in Southeast Asia, adjacent to the East Sea coast stretching 3,260km, and tropical monsoon climate conditions with large annual rainfall favorable for the crop production industry, Vietnam has great potential to become one of the leading countries in the production and export of tropical vegetables, flowers, and fruits in the regional and international markets.

"The evidence is that Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export turnover has continuously increased from USD 3.3 billion in 2022 to USD 5.6 billion in 2023 and will reach USD 7.2 billion this year," Dang Phuc Nguyen emphasized.

The General Secretary of Vinafruit said that organizing the HortEx Vietnam 2025 International Exhibition right in Vietnam will create more opportunities for domestic enterprises to find customers and promote trade cooperation, technology transfer, and advanced techniques with international partners.

Nguyen Ba Vinh, Director of Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertising Services Company Limited (Veas), informed that HortEx Vietnam 2025 will take place from March 12 to 14, 2025, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

The special feature of this year's event is that for the first time HortEx Vietnam cooperates with Agritechnica Asia - the world's leading exhibition brand for agricultural machinery and equipment organized by DLG.

During the 3 days of HortEx Vietnam 2025, there will be a series of outstanding programs such as: Seminars, Export Forum, Grower Talk, VIP Buyer Program, Retailer Workshop... This is an opportunity for businesses and retailers to exchange and share experiences and update new trends in the vegetable, flower, and fruit industries. In particular, there will be a flower arrangement competition, to honor the creativity and beauty of the Vietnamese flower industry through works of art from fresh flowers.
